A promotional poster for the 2023 Women's World Cup, depicting a map of the host countries Australia and New Zealand. The map includes the host team's nicknames, native animals and illustrations of each venue. The compass is the 2023 World Cup's official football design.
The poster puts aside expectations or comparisons to men's events, and shows a pure act of celebration and joy for the World Cup and its hosts. A previous dissertation on the functions of maps led to initial experiments using maps as a function for advertisement and information.
To expand the project, the map would become a touch-responsive interactive piece, where pressing stadiums, animals and players would lead to further information and illustrations around that subject.
